The questions an RCM lead actually asks
It covers four areas: claims, prior auths, denials, and the work queue. Ask for the top claims by value, the oldest pending prior auths, how many are pending, your top denial reasons, or the highest-priority work items. Narrow it by time — this quarter, last 90 days, last 12 months — and the window moves with the question.
It keeps the thread
Answers aren't dead ends. Say "break that down by payer" and it regroups the same query rather than starting a new one; say "only show denied ones" and it narrows the set you're already looking at. Each refinement is linked back to the query it came from, so you can see how you got to the number.
